Pursuing Your BCBA?

We support team members working toward BCBA certification through high-quality, neuro-affirming supervision and indirect fieldwork opportunities. Our goal is to help students work toward internship requirements while developing practical skills in assent-based care.

What we look for

• Currently enrolled in or pursuing a BCBA / BCaBA program
• Seeking supervision or fieldwork hours
• Commitment to neuro-affirming, assent-based practice

Behavior Technician (BT)

At Assent Academy, Behavior Technicians build meaningful, trust-based relationships with learners. You will follow each learner's lead, respect their autonomy, and recognize all forms of communication—including nonverbal cues and requests for space.

You will facilitate play, support daily routines, and implement neuro-affirming, assent-based support plans without relying on compliance-driven tactics. Responsibilities include collecting data, supporting skill development through naturalistic play, and keeping each learner's comfort and assent central to every session.

What we look for

• 18 years of age or older and authorized to work in the United States
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Able to pass a background check and child abuse registry screening
• Willing to complete RBT training before starting
• Reliable transportation to client homes and schools

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Registered Behavior Technicians build meaningful, trust-based relationships with learners while supporting their autonomy and honoring verbal and nonverbal communication, including requests for space.

You will facilitate play, assist with daily routines, and implement individualized, neuro-affirming, assent-based plans. You will collect data and support skill-building through naturalistic play, ensuring the learner's comfort and assent remain central. RBTs are expected to demonstrate a stronger working knowledge of ABA principles and their application, and to assist the BCBA with more advanced data-collection responsibilities.

What we look for

• Active RBT certification with the BACB
• 18 years of age or older and authorized to work in the United States
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Able to pass a background check and child abuse registry screening
• Reliable transportation to client homes and schools

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Our BCBAs develop and oversee compassionate, assent-centered behavior plans that respect neurodiversity and move away from compliance for its own sake.

Responsibilities include conducting functional assessments that consider environmental adjustments, sensory needs, and self-advocacy; mentoring technicians; collaborating transparently with families; and ensuring interventions protect client dignity, honor “no,” and support long-term autonomy.

What we look for

• Active BCBA certification
• Experience with, or strong commitment to, assent-based and neuro-affirming practice
• Able to pass a background check and child abuse registry screening
• Reliable transportation to client homes and schools

Administrative Team Member (Admin)

Our administrative team helps create a welcoming, supportive experience for families, clients, and staff. You will coordinate scheduling, manage communications, and support day-to-day operations with warmth, empathy, and organization.

By keeping processes inclusive and responsive to individual needs, you help ensure that everyone feels respected and supported from their first inquiry onward.

• Warm, organized communicator
